River Vangrøfta - from the film "Torrfluelandet" - is the perfect place for those who like to fish for big trout. There is only a limited number of licenses available so you can be sure to have a lot of river for yourself.

Fishing License

Permits can be purchased online, at the local store "Dalsbygda Handel" and at other outlets in the district.
Fishing zones information
Zone 1 has two zones in one license. In between
those two zones is zone 2 which has its own
permit. There are only 10 license per day sold
in this part of the river.
Fishing Rules
Only fly fishing and fishing with worms is allowed.
The season lasts from May 20th until September 10th.
Limited licenses sales: A total of maximum 13 permits per day are sold: 7 licenses in zone 1 and 3 licenses in zone 2 (3 permits are reserved for local fishermen)
A fishing day starts at 10:00 and ends at 10.00 the next day.
Minimum size, maximum size and bag limit * :
- Minimum size is 30 cm. All fish under the
minimum size have to be released.
- Maximum size : It is forbidden to kill fish
over 40 cm. All fish over 40 cm must be
released.
- Bag limit: one fish per day per fisherman.
The license is strictly personal and not transferable. The fishing license is not valid without identification.
All fish over the minimum size have to be reported. (See instructions)
Rules for worm fishing:
Worm fishing is only allowed with single hook. You have to keep the fishing rod in your hands. Fishermen are required to fish in such a way that fish swallowing the hook is avoided.
When wading be carefull not to damage the river bottom vegetation.
Children under 16 fish for free but must otherwise comply with the fishing regulations.
Violations of the regulations may result in prosecution.
Fishermen are required to be precise. If in doubt the fish is legal size it has to be released.

Other information
Show respect for the cultivated land. Do not walk over fields. Take all rubbish home. The river environment is
a shared responsibility. Use as much as possible the marked parking spaces (see large map)
When camping, use as much as possible marked area's. Show respect for buildings and public access.
Some roads require to pay toll. See the information signs!
Important for releasing fish
For fish to survive catch and release the following is very important:
- Land the fish as fast as you can!
- DO NOT lift the fish out of water unnecessarily
- Be fast and efficient
- Use forceps to unhook the fish
